NEET paper leaked and 11 lakh students' hard work wasted overnight, how is this normal?

Imagine studying for 2 years straight. No going out, no movies, no friends. Just books, mock tests, and coaching. Your parents spent their savings on your coaching. You slept 5 hours a night. And then the exam paper gets leaked. That is exactly what happened with NEET in 2024. Papers were leaked in Bihar, the CBI had to step in, and students who played by the rules got cheated. But it did not stop there. UGC-NET was cancelled overnight because the education ministry found out the exam integrity was compromised. Over 11 lakh students had sat for UGC-NET. 11 lakh students. Their hard work, their months of preparation, destroyed in one night because someone somewhere sold the paper for money. And the crazy part is this is not a one time thing. Paper leaks have become routine in India. Rajasthan, UP, Haryana, Bihar, it keeps happening again and again. In just the last few years, there have been over 40 reported paper leak incidents across different states. Recruitment exams, entrance exams, competitive exams, nothing is safe. The Modi govt formed a committee to fix the National Testing Agency after the NEET mess. But what has actually changed? Students are still waiting for real reform. The NTA still conducts exams the same way. The same contractors, the same transport logistics, the same vulnerability to leaks. Here is what really makes me angry. When a paper leaks, who suffers? Not the officials who were responsible. Not the paper setters. Not the middlemen who sold the paper. The students suffer. They have to give the exam again. They lose months. Some lose a whole year. And nobody is held accountable. No official has been sent to jail for the NEET leak. No NTA head was fired. The CBI investigation is still going on and nothing has come of it. The govt talks about New India and Digital India but cannot even conduct an exam without it getting leaked. Other countries have computer based testing with randomized questions so leaking is impossible. India still uses printed papers transported in trucks. The whole system is stuck in the 1990s. And when students protest, what happens? They are called anti nationals or told to stop complaining. The education minister gives a statement in Parliament, promises action, and then nothing happens until the next leak. The NEET scam specifically was massive. There were allegations of score inflation, grace marks being given arbitrarily, and toppers from the same center getting suspiciously high scores. The Supreme Court had to intervene. Students filed petitions. And what was the govt response? They said the exam was mostly fine and only a small number were affected. Mostly fine? If even one student gets a seat through leaked paper, that means one honest student loses their seat. That is not mostly fine, that is a scam. Has the govt lost control over conducting exams fairly?
